Section 80DDB provides the tax payer a tax benefit  of rs 40,000 for persons having age less than 60 years.

Upto Rs 100000 tax rebate for senior citizens having age 60 years and less than or equal to 80 years.

And also  Rs 100000 tax benefit for super senior citizens having age above 80 years onwards for treatment of  specified diseases.

How you can avail tax benefit u/s 80DDB

Under this 80DDB sectionTax payer can avail tax benefit for himself/herself,dependent children and parents.

The Income Tax Department  has made a list of specified diseases for the treatment of which tax payer and his/her dependent family members can take tax benefit under section 80DDB.

  • Dementia
  • Dystonia Musculorum Defrmans
  • Motor Neoron Disease
  • Ataxia
  • Chorea
  • Hemmiballismus
  • Aphasia
  • Parkinsons Disease

Malignant Cancers

  • Breast Cancer
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Basal cell Cancer

AIDS

CHORONIC RENAL FAILURE

HemophilIa

Thalassaemia
